ELEW 9 @ le poisson rouge in nyc. playing all covers of rock/alternative pieces. to say he has an athletic style might be a bit of an understatement. last time i saw him he was one of the most interesting young jazz pianists i had seen. now, it is just something completely... different. the covers he played have been done before (radiohead, 'teen spirit'), and arguably better by the bad plus, but there could still be a sweet spot out there. he has enough charisma, energy and virtuosity to fill arenas

todd williams qt 4 - eric lewis again, man this guy is awesome. dunno if it was t.w. 's music or jusst his gig - the bluesy jazz and jazzy blues coming from the keyboard MADE the set. the sorta music that no one knowing jazz, knowing music, would hear & immediately identify as 'rockin'.
wow, when music speaks so many languages (don't happen often), jus gotta listen
